BookmarkWiz 1.15 update

BookmarkWiz, Social Bookmarking ToolThis is the first time in history users of BookmarkWiz get to utilize the new built-in Auto Update feature, which was introduced with v1.14 of this nifty Social Bookmarking & indexing tool.

For Windows Vista and Windows 7 64-bit users to avoid problems when installing the update, right-click the .msi file and choose to run it as Administrator. I forgot to do this, and just ran the Auto Update as is, from the Windows Start Menu.

Everything looked fine, with the update downloading and preparing to install over the old 1.14 version. I did not expect to run into any issues, being oblivious to common knowledge such as the Administrator level required for many programs to successfully install and run in Vista or Windows 7:

Using the brand new Auto Update feature introduced in BookmarkWiz 1.14, here updating to 1.15 with it

The update procedure yielded a not very helpful, generic error message at the end. “Okay, no biggie,” I thought by myself, as I went to the BMW forum and downloaded the 1.15 update for a manual install. Which by the way is quick and easy. With that over with, I returned to the forum to see if other users had reported the same problem. I noticed a heads up from another user, with nossie the owner promptly responding with the Administrator solution.

Changelog for BookmarkWiz 1.15:

  • Propeller.com error handling improvements (wrong tags and banned accounts reporting)
  • Mixx.com error handling improvements (wrong tags reporting)
  • Improvements in completing submission/registration

The 1.15 update has already received two pages worth of feedback in the support forum, most with regard to the Auto Update issue for Vista/Windows 7 64-bit users. All things considered, with the continuous development and improvements, some minor issues are to be expected. I much rather have that, than a stale old version that’s never updated at all.

I haven’t had time to try out 1.15 much, yet, but it runs better and more efficiently than the previous version. It is still a good idea and even necessary to register some of the Social accounts manually, and the problem lies with the Social websites, rather than BookMarkWiz.

Either way, I feel that my money was well spent on this software. BookmarkWiz looks to not only give competitors such as BookmarkingDemon a run for their money, but keeps improving on all levels.

Warrior Forum members: if you contemplate buying BookmarkWiz, use the code “warrior” on the order page to become eligible for a $10 discount. Actually, the code works for everybody, it’s just a nice gesture toward the Warrior Forum community.

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me asking but is this site using wordpress and if so is it a standard theme or one you designed yourself? I like wordpress but don’t like the way that most sites look like, well – wordpress! I’d love to have a site that looks like yours! Can you reveal your secret? Thanks, S x

      Thanks for the comment,

The theme I am currently using is the Flexibility 2 theme, which can be downloaded for free from the Flexibility Theme website. I have edited the template files a bit, although sometimes the user-friendly functions decide to give me a friendly kick in the teeth and do whatever it wants, instead ;) But it is an excellent theme nonetheless, considering it is a Premium WP theme that comes at no cost! I would definitely recommend to try it out.

You’ll see the FlexSqueeze theme promoted on the website, but just look under the promo graphics and the Flexibility 2 theme link is there.
