When browsing online yesterday I found this neat, free online tool called “Drop My Link“. It’s user-friendly little helper that finds web properties letting visitors add their backlinks. Like when you buy a new computer mouse and toss the manual in the bin, this tool is so easy, no manual is required.

The website presents two text fields, “Keywords” and “Find”. In the “Keywords” field you type in your keywords, for instance “how to grow vegetables”. The “Find” option includes a list of following properties, for filtering out which kind of websites you want included in the results:

• .edu blogs
• .gov blogs
• KeywordLuv blogs
• Directories-add URL
• Directories-add site
• Directories-add website
• Squidoo Lenses-add to list
• HugPages-Hot hubs
• Angela’s Backlinks

All you have to do is insert your chosen keyword/s in the top field, choose the appropriate filter below then click the Search button and watch as the magic unfolds. That’s all there is to it! Or at least, for finding good places to use for building backlinks.

Word of caution: do not abuse social web properties, blogs or any other places accepting backlinks. If you are commenting in a blog to add your backlink, make sensible and in context comments. Show respect when building backlinks and commenting in others blogs, and your efforts will be rewarded with better rankings in Google for your website, which means more free traffic.
