My previous, short post on the subject implied some frustration on my part, however this update is more thorough. As the title suggests: ACME People Search Free with 100% Display Rate.

Many affiliates felt the old Display Rate and Success Rate concept complicated things and were intimidated by it. Because of this, Tissa has waived the old system to let all of the affiliates enjoy a 100% display rate from their People Search engine affiliate links, which includes AdSense, ClickBank, MyLife and HD. Furthermore, it is mandatory to subscribe to Step 3 for at least 45 consecutive days for an A.P.S. referral commission payout, which must exceed $200.

“Userfriendly” not just a word?

Whether the new system with a 100% display rate and free hosting for the People Search engine makes ACME People Search easier to grasp for new affiliates, is still debated. With numerous details still not in place and the back office resembling an ongoing experiment, in its current state ACME People Search is hardly the most userfriendly experience. Admittedly, the back office is easier to navigate now, with referral earnings showing and important links easily accessible.

Tissa’s statement, posted in the A.P.S. Support forum on January 30, 2010:

The “Display Rate” concept for the free People Search engine will be waived and referrals given access to their own People Search page with a 100% display rate for ClickBank, HD, MyLife and AdSense on Step 1, which is “free forever”. This to avoid further confusion on what’s included with each step.

Step 3 subscription is now required in order to receive GDI sign-ups, otherwise they go in Tissa’s GDI downline. Previously, Step 1 & 2 were needed for this, but with most referrals cancelling Step 3 within long, it was hurting everybody’s success rate.

Step 1 Free with 100% Display Rate

Step 1 has always been free, with a limited Display Rate. When activating Step 1, new affiliates get their own free People Search engine with a 100% display rate for ClickBank, AdSense, MyLife, HD and US Search Social Network Search. They can stay at Step 1 and earn money off of the affiliate links, or upgrade to Step 2/3 and gain additional income streams and other perks.

Included with Step 1:

Free hosting for People Search engine, affiliate links for:

ClickBank

HD Publishing

AdSense

MyLife

US Search-Social Network Search

Included with Step 2:

Brand your search engine using GDI, Host Gator or GVO web hosting, customize and add your People Search engine in your own blog or website, use it to provide free people searches or let your visitors put in their e-mail address to register in your downline.

Included with Step 3:

Additional income streams from GDI, Host Gator, GVO, and referral commissions; you become eligible for commission payouts from Tissa Godavitarne, and you can also become a Super Sponsor by helping other users in the support forum.

Access to the GDI “Secret” Sign-up Sauce Ingredients (basically a Forced Matrix)

The “Super Affiliate” switch offered as a free bonus

The Step 3 requirement was added to balance out the generous offer for Step 1 affiliates. GDI usually is the main reason for joining A.P.S., and it is too early to tell how the current updates will affect it. The added incentives for subscribing to Step 3 could help with building a retentive Step 3 list, at least in theory.

A GDI membership is $10 per month and comes with (very) basic web hosting features, your own .ws domain name and its own MLM affiliate program. Works well in combination with ACME People Search, if the affiliate knows how to earn money online in the first place.

In conclusion

ACME People Search is not as userfriendly as it could be, and it has a way to go before I would call it that. The 100% display rate for the People Search engine in Step 1 makes ACME People Search available to everyone with Internet access, and they can’t afford Step 2 and 3, or they just want to earn money by means of affiliate links in their free People Search engine, they are free to do so.

As for Step 2 and 3, no-one knows how many Step 1 affiliates will jump in the pool for their share of the fun rather than waiting around for the water to heat up. These are pretty significant changes, and only the future can tell what comes out of it. With a supportive community, a hard working team and new revenue streams added, ACME People Search looks pretty safe for now, at least.

Other than article and affiliate marketing, one of the most popular income venues are AdSense advertising on your blog or website. If you are an AdSense Publisher and you haven’t kept up with Google’s rule updates since 2008 or early 2009, it’s time to ask yourself: is your AdSense account in danger?

Unfortunately, and I keep seeing this: most AdSense Publishers seem to not bother reading the T.O.S. in their AdSense Publisher account, and a lot of them are consistently breaking one or more of their rules, which in turn will have their account flagged and banned, eventually.

I don’t want you to become one of them, so I decided to provide a list of warning signs, things to look out for, what matters most in order to avoid having your AdSense Publisher account closed. When banned from AdSense or AdWords, it’s for life. I have heard it is more like two or three years, then maybe they will accept you back, but why take any chances?

So, is your AdSense account in danger? Below I sum up ten reasons why AdSense can have your account banned, then I’ll go on and explain why. Ultimately, it is up to you to protect yourself. I put together this list to help AdSense Publishers avoid getting banned, although it is up to you to update yourself regularly on their T.O.S. The Privacy Policy rule was added in 2009, and thousands of Publishers still ignoring it, are at risk of losing their accounts.

Ten common reasons AdSense would ban your account:

Your site lacks a Privacy Policy link on every page with AdSense.

Your site contains excessive amount of abusive language.

Your site provides adult content.

Your web pages contain no actual text content, only advertising.

You installed a large number of MFA sites on the same IP address.

You placed an AdSense block beneath the page title, Xfactor style.

You posted a link to a blog or website in a forum, asking for advice.

You ask or suggest that your visitors may click the AdSense links.

Your ex, friend or a close relative clicked your AdSense links.

Disgruntled part time Google whore employee reports your site out of spite.

How to get your AdSense account back if it was banned?

1. Your site lacks a Privacy Policy link on every page with AdSense.

Solution: SerpRank.com offers a free online tool for creating a customized and ready to use Personal Privacy file. Add the text to a new WP page and use the Exclude Pages plug-in to hide the visible Page link, or create a new blog post (Blogger.com) and add a link to the post in your Blogger footer.

2. Your site contains excessive amount of profanity & abusive language.

Solution: Profanity, racial slur, personal attacks and hatred on your blog or website means a one-way ticket out of the AdSense program, so simply don’t do it. If you have to be a web bully, don’t use AdSense.

3. Your site provides adult content.

Solution: Frustrated AdSense Publisher complains he’s been banned, but is innocent. Others have a look at his website and find pornographic content and/or links to other websites with it. If you are going to publish adult content on your website, use another advertiser, Black Label Ads for instance.

4. Your web pages contain no actual text content, only advertising.

Solution: Google have always put emphasis on the importance of providing good quality content on your website. If you only add a page title followed by an AdSense block and then a couple of lines worth with typically auto-spun text, you are practically asking for a ban. Write your own unique articles and content. Google is catching up with any kind of spun text content, it is not worth the risk.

5. You install a large number of MFA sites on the same IP address.

Solution: The more AdSense blogs or websites you install on the same IP address, the bigger footprint it leaves. Even though this does not mean you are violating their T.O.S. it is an unnecessary risk. As a rule of thumb, I would install no more than five to ten domains using the same IP address. I use Host Gator, and in addition to offering affordable high quality web hosting and stellar customer support, they also offer Managed VPS hosting, with which you can scale up when your AdSense grows, with up to 32 different IP addresses.

6. You placed an AdSense block beneath the page title, Xfactor style.

Solution: Xfactor’s “Adsense Masters Course” is a popular, zero hype blueprint on how to build AdSense websites producing a high AdSense CTR, but even he advise against copying his AdSense web template, with emphasis on the large AdSense block glued beneath the page title, making it look as if the title introduces the AdSense. To avoid risking a ban because of this, add two or three lines of text between the title and the AdSense block.

7. You posted a link to a blog or website in a forum, asking for advice.

Solution: Sometimes you seek someone else’s opinion on your blog or website design and AdSense placement, but before sharing your domain URL in a forum, or anywhere at all, ask yourself: “am I willing to risk having my AdSense account banned because someone might click-bomb the ads out of spite?” This is exactly what happened in a forum I frequent; someone posted his AdSense blog’s URL to gather some advice and opinions from fellow forum members. Another member posted a disturbing response suggesting he had “helped” him getting AdSense clicks. Upon checking his blog, I found his ads were offline.

Never share the URL for your AdSense blog or website with anyone. If you want advice on ad placement and such, post screenshots. Edit out details that otherwise could reveal the location.

8. You ask or suggest that your visitors may click the AdSense links.

Solution: I hope this was too obvious for you before reading it here, but to many Publishers it still isn’t. Even if you never meant to ask visitors to your blog or website, to click the AdSense links, Google’s web spiders can crawl your site and read something as an incentive to click the AdSense ads. If in doubt, don’t write it.

9. Your ex, friend or a close relative clicked your AdSense links.

Another common and unfortunate situation. Say you mention your AdSense endeavours to your Mother, and she is utterly impressed. When doing house chores later that day, she glances into your room and sees your AdSense site on the screen. She doesn’t totally understand how this AdSense-thing works, although she grasped the part about you earning money every time someone clicks the links. Of course, she’s eager to help out…

Or, your ex is still mad after the breakup, and he or she decides to take revenge by click-bombing your AdSense links. Or it was a colleague, who hates you, someone at school, e.t.c. Never share your AdSense URLs!

10. Disgruntled part time Google whore employee reports your site out of spite.

If you wonder what it’s like to get paid by Google for manually reviewing blogs and websites, do a common Google search. What do you see? Ugly MFA sites and parked domains. Site reviewers are only human, so don’t expect them to patiently cope with all the nastiness thrown at them every day. There is a chance they sometimes flag sites out of spite, but I very much doubt they attack those with at least semi-decent content.

What can you do to prevent this? That’s easy: provide useful content like any other website, that was not purely made for AdSense. Put some effort into it and give it a purpose, and you are safe. In theory.

11. How to get your AdSense account back if it was banned?

Solution: The short answer is: you don’t. But, as I have never fancied the “it’s impossible” mantra, I refuse to say that AdSense will not remove a ban once they have gone that far. First of all, you must contact them as soon as possible, using the information in the e-mail they sent you.

Aaron Greenspan had his Publisher account banned by AdSense, and he write a two-part story on his experience with it. Definitely an interesting read: Why I sued Google (and won)

If you have lost your AdSense Publisher account, and you truly believe it was not in violation of their T.O.S., visit this blog which provides a thorough set of step-by-step instructions that should at least give you a better chance of being reinstated by the company: How to get your disabled AdSense account back.

AdSense is NOT the ONLY solution

Becoming an AdSense Publisher is a nice way to create a cash flow for re-investing into own business, but relying on AdSense income alone is not very wise. Establish multiple income streams and prepare yourself for when the day comes, that your AdSense Publisher account is gone.

CPA networks such as Adscend Media are reliable and provide a wide range of CPA offers for blogs and websites. When building AdSense sites, have CPA networks in mind. AdSense sites can be easily converted to utilize CPA offers, in the unfortunate event that your AdSense Publisher account gets banned.

New Tools for a New Project
During the Holidays I invested in some new tools to maximize my efforts, such as the new Social Bookmarking wonder boy “BookmarkWiz” (v1.13 was out yesterday) and Xfactor’s success blueprint: “Micro Niche Adsense Course“.
Earning money online in 2010:
I am happy to say that I am taking action on my goals for 2010! After doing some research yesterday, I registered a domain name with strong keywords in it, app. 10,000 searches per month and almost no competition. If everything goes as planned, it will rank #1 – 3 in Google by the end of January.

I do not plan on becoming dependent on the Adsense income, simply because I feel that I cannot trust the company. I am not suggesting they are evil, but way too many honest web masters have lost their income when their system decided they were breaking a rule.

As a precaution I will build CPA offer websites in addition to the Adsense sites. That way, if the original plan should fail at a point, I can convert everything to CPA using numerous different CPA networks (again: do not put all eggs in one basket; join more than just one affiliate network in case some of them turn their back on you).

Why not WordPress?
You may have noticed how I use the word “website” rather than “WordPress“; there are several reasons I use websites for this, and my main reasons are:

Web templates are much more cost-effective on shared web hosting servers

WP depends on complicated code, whereas a HTML template is simple, clean and efficient

You can often achieve better SEO with a HTML template

It is easier for HTML newbies to edit a web template than WP template files

My goal for 2010
This is a long term project for earning money online in 2010 and onward, and my main goal is to earn $1,500+ monthly from my Adsense sites by December this year.

Brave or stupid? Time will tell!

It was a WSO thread and “one hell of a deal,” as one of the seasoned WF members put it early in the thread in response to the initial post from another member who had proven to be knowledgeable on SEO and Adsense and helping others a lot.

What follows is pure tragedy and I consider the thread important reading as it shows how easily anyone can get scammed, even in such highly regarded forums.

The WSO guy was selling a complete Adsense income solution with a blog that comes with a series of high quality articles posted over time to build its PR. The price was $197 and had he actually delivered the full product it would have been a bargain that would easily pay for itself. Normally, that kind of offers are considered “too good to be true,” but he had earned a solid reputation for sharing so much information before this.

The thread in question is located here

The thread is mildly amusing in the way you might laugh when someone slip and fall hard on the ice, and at the same time feel sorry for them. What started out a marvelous deal ended in tragedy, with two scammers sitting on roughly $10,000 that they owe the unfortunate ones who bought into their WSO offer.

If you want to see what this is all about, visit the Warrior Forum and read the thread. We can all learn a thing or two from it. Like I mentioned earlier, the person in question had before this been very helpful and gained confidence in his role as an expert, willingly sharing valuable information on Adsense and SEO. Everybody knew for certain he was a 100% honest guy, then this happens.

Don’t let this incident scare you from buying from other WSO offers, though; there will always be a few bad seeds, but the WF community is very friendly and supportive, and you get all the help you need for free. Furthermore, products sold in the WSO forum are often much cheaper than anywhere else.
