Why Failure leads to Success

The last couple of days has been a mess; there has been so much to do that I kind of froze when I turned around and looked at all the tasks I must finish before I can move on and expand my activities. In that regard, I want to share some stray thoughts to encourage those who are new at Internet Marketing.

Why Failure leads to Success

As frustrating it may be, and I point this out to my referrals: in order to appreciate success and understand how to achieve it, they must first experience failure. If success was like winning the lottery, would you work harder to become more successful, if you could afford whatever your dreams desire, all of a sudden?

Upon entering the muddy realms of Internet Marketing as a newbie, I committed numerous mistakes, got scammed and I considered guru wannabes with high forum post count and a big mouth, the real thing. I learned something, but I also wasted time and burned out eventually. I saw the end of the road before my journey had begun, and I started panicking, measuring a to-do list that was growing bigger by the day.

Having used Traffic Exchange sites for months in spite of their awesome uselessness, earning a few measly dollars, I asked myself “what’s the point, what am I doing wrong?” Part of the answer was: I was too dang ignorant to build a list with the Traffic Exchange sites. The actual gurus kept nagging about how important this is. I happily ignored them, which was a huge mistake. As the saying goes: “The money is in the list“.

On that note: I’m currently testing a free, self-hosted list script. You will see it in action when you download my free WordPress Landing Page, which will be available during this weekend, promise!

I also joined a big affiliate program after doing some research beforehand, enough to know it was real and paying their affiliates. I signed up and started promoting it with my 1337 newbie methods (T.E., Safelists e.t.c.). I was rewarded with a bunch of inactive referrals, who never even finished registering. Bummer.

Then, finally, something good happened after all these energy-draining failures:

I wrote my first articles promoting the opportunity and submitted it with GoArticles. The articles ranked #1-5 in Google and produced good sign-ups and retentive downlines. GoArticles is free to join by the way. Research some good long-tail keywords before writing, and your articles will be hot stuff within days.

Even though I am still not making “a lot of money”, I have stopped worrying about it. Failure is almost inevitable in terms of making money on the Internet. It happens to all of us, and the sooner you accept it the sooner you are able to take a blow, shake it off and move on. Think positive and you become more productive!

I’ll add in some useful bullets to sum it up

  • Patience and persistence is required to succeed with making money online.
  • Failure is inevitable, especially in the beginning .
  • Stop beating yourself up when not making money, instead reward yourself for still trying!
  • If you don’t like doing what you do to make money, do something else (duh).
  • Get rid of your MMORPG-games and spend that time on your projects.
  • Learn how to build a list (I’ll add a short and easy guide soon).
  • Avoid downloading too many new e-book before you have read your old ones.
  • Stop Worrying about how much money you make online.

It’s really basic stuff, but it is almost too easy to forget it. I haven’t mentioned “print out a list of things you want in life and put it somewhere you can see it every day”. It is another thing all the gurus love to nag about, and I’m certain you will hear it soon, if you haven’t already!

Here’s to your success!
